TYPE OF MEETING:  Board of Equalization Hearing

Notes:

I.     This meeting is subject to the provisions of Nevada Open Meeting Law (NRS Chapter241).  This meeting is open and public.
II.    Action will be taken on all agenda items, unless otherwise noted
III.  The agenda is a tentative schedule.  The Board of Equalization may act upon agenda items in a different order than is stated in this notice - so as to affect the peoples business in the most efficient manner.
IV.  In the interest of time, the Board of Equalization reserves the right to impose uniform time limits upon matters devoted to public comment.
V.    Any statement made by a member of the Board of Equalization during the public meeting is absolutely privileged.

        Agenda:

1.     Verification of posting of the Agenda.

2.     Adoption of the Agenda as submitted or revised.

3.     Informational Items (No Action Necessary):

Presentation by the Churchill County District Attorney's Office as to hearing procedures to be implemented by the Board of Equalization and the swearing of witnesses.  Discussion of other matters pertinent to the record of the board.  (Persons previously sworn will be subject to their prior oath or affirmation).

4.    Consideration and Possible Action Regarding: Administrative Change of taxable land values associated with properties in the Northgate Subdivision in Fallon, Churchill County, Nevada.  This matter was previously discussed at the February 12, 2008 public meeting of the Churchill County Board of Equalization with no final decision being made.  The matter was continued pending preparation and receipt of additional information relating to the properties - so as to assist the board in rendering a final decision subject to the provisions of NRS Chapter 241 and NRS Chapter 361.  Among other things, the board will consider what, if any, affect the termination of a homeowner's association had on land values within the Subdivision.  Having heard the evidence, the Board will direct the Churchill County Assessor to set the tax rolls of the county accordingly.  Any member of the public may appear and provide additional evidence to be considered by the Board. 

5.         Public Comment (No action to be taken).  Any member of the public may also appear and provide public comment on matters not described in the agenda.

6.     Affidavit of Posting.

*The Board of Equalization reserves the right to restrict participation by persons in the public meeting where the conduct of such persons is willfully disruptive to the people’s business.
