he order of the
races and questions on your ballot is established by the Nevada
Revised Statutes. Candidates names are listed in alphabetical
order for each office. You have the option of voting for "none
of these candidates" only when the office is for
President/Vice-President or is statewide (covers the entire state),
e.g., Governor, Lieutenant Governor or Justice of the Supreme Court.
You can only vote for the offices and questions applicable to your
precinct and listed in your sample ballot, e.g., you can only vote
for one Representative in Congress and it can only be
the one representing your precinct, as indicated in you sample
ballot.
Read through your sample ballot, make your decisions & bring
your sample ballot with you to the polls to assist you while you are
voting to help prevent long delays at the polls. Be considerate of
other voters and dont wait until you are in the voting booth to
make your choices. Study, mark and bring your sample ballot to the
polls. This will make voting easier for you and faster for everyone.
Every active registered voter in Churchill County should receive
a sample ballot before early voting begins. Sample ballots are non-forwardable.
Therefore, if youve moved since the last election, you must
notify the Clerk/Treasurers Office of your new address prior to
the deadline for registering to vote and making changes to your
registration, or you will not receive your sample ballot.
Sample ballots contain information about the upcoming election,
such as:
- The name and address of your polling place of record,
- An early voting schedule listing dates, times and locations
- A facsimile of your actual ballot, containing the offices and
questions for which you are
eligible to vote
If you
did not receive a sample ballot or you have misplaced yours,
please call the Clerk's Office at (775) 423-6028 or come by the
office
at 155 N. Taylor Street, Suite 110 (old hospital). Sample ballots
will be
mailed out to all active registered voters in Churchill County
approximately two weeks prior to election day.
