The Clerk/Treasurer is an elected position of four-year terms. The staff is composed of seven full-time employees of which three are full time Court Clerks in the District Court at 73 North Maine Street in the Law Enforcement Building, and four full-time employees in the Clerk/Treasurer's office in the Churchill County Administrative Complex at 155 N. Taylor Street. Also in the employ of the Clerk/Treasurer's office is a part-time casual employee who assists wherever needed.

The Treasurer's office is responsible for receipt and deposit of
 revenue from all of the departments within the county. This office
also receipts revenue from the Churchill County Telephone 
Company and Child Support funds processed through the District
Attorney's Office.

Other duties of the Clerk/Treasurer's office is to sell marriage
licenses, process passport applications, issue fictitious name
certificates for new businesses, issue ministers Certificates of
Permission to Perform Marriages, file bonds for notaries and also file powers of attorney.

The Clerk/Treasurer's Office is responsible for the organizing and conducting of all Primary, General and Special Elections in Churchill County. We also assist the City of Fallon with their elections. We register voters, process applications from Department of Motor Vehicle (Motor Voter Registration), Social Services and mail-in registrations. This has become a full time duty. The Secretary of State has requested an update at the end of each month.

  • To increase public confidence in local government by providing the service required by this office in an efficient and courteous manner, which they are entitled to, as has always been the policy of this office.

  • To provide the public with assistance that is within the requirements of the Clerk/Treasurer's jurisdiction.

  • To increase awareness of the voter registration process and the efficiency and effectiveness of the election process.
    .
  • To provide the highest level of service with the minimum financial impact.
