Arthur E. Mallory, District Attorney

District Attorney Arthur E. Mallory was elected as District Attorney of Churchill County in November 1998. He has been dedicated to law enforcement and criminal prosecution for 27 of his33-year professional career.

District Attorney Mallory was appointed to serve on the State of Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection and has been a member of that Commission since 2003. Mr. Mallory serves on the State Commission on Rural Courts and the Advisory Committee on Criminal Justice in Rural Areas. Mr. Mallory also serves on the Nevada Supreme Court's Committee on Court Monitoring of Domestic Violence and teaches numerous seminars on that subject. Arthur Mallory is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and various lower state and federal courts.

Earlier in life, Mallory was the District Attorney of five counties outside of Atlanta, Georgia, investigating and trying all homicide and death penalty cases.He is one of only a few people ever to hold the office of District Attorney in two different states.

Mallory served in the United States Army, active duty and reserve, and the National Guard from 1970 to 1987.

In 1986, the Smithsonian Institute and the American Trial Lawyers' Association named Mallory as one of the top prosecutors in America.
Mr. Mallory has two graduate degrees. He has taught Jury Persuasion for the American Bar Association and has been an instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno, in both the graduate and undergraduate programs.

  • Adjunct Professor of Law - Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, Georgia, 1985 to present, supervising and teaching in the Trial Techniques Program offered each May to third year law students, including all aspects of trial work and ethics for the trial lawyer.

  • Supervising Instructor - National Institute for Trial Advocacy, National Session, at the University of Colorado, Law School, Boulder, Colorado, 1989.

  • Instructor - University of Nevada, College of Business Administration, Managerial Science Department, Reno, Nevada from 1990 to 1998

  • Instructor in excess of 100 legal education programs, including lectures on trial techniques, the art of Cross-examination, trial preparation, evidence, jury selection and legal ethics.

  • Video tape programs on trial techniques produced by Emory University Law School, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the District Attorney’s Association of Georgia for use in law schools and continuing legal education programs.
