The Master Plan
The
Churchill County 2010 Master Plan provides the framework foundation for decision making on matters relating to growth and development. The Master Plan focuses on land use and development issues facing Churchill County and establishes goals and policies that address countywide issues and concerns.

The land use element of the Master Plan establishes a planned pattern for the development of Churchill County. The
Master Land Use Plan / Growth Management Plan describes general locations appropriate for agriculture and low density residential uses and designates an urbanizing area for more intensive mixed uses.
Zoning
All property in Churchill County has a zoning designation identified on the county
Zoning Map (7 MB file may take a few moments to download). There are five distinct land use districts: agricultural, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural resource. There are also a total of nine zoning designations. View a brief

Title 16, Consolidated Development Code provides for the permitting procedures, development standards and land division requirements applicable for each zoning designation

abandonments of utility easements,
administrative special use permits,
administrative variances, and
expansion/change in use of a commercial or industrial property permits.
