Churchill County’s first sewage treatment facility was constructed in 1995 as part of the Pine Grove Subdivision located off Birch Lane. The County took over the ownership and operation of the sewer treatment facilities around 2005 to accommodate the rapid development in the area and in preparation of the County constructing a larger and more efficient wastewater treatment facility that met federal and state standards.
In 2007 the County commenced operation of a temporary wastewater treatment facility at the Fallon Golf Course and sewage from the Pine Grove system was diverted to this facility via gravity feed and 7 lift stations. At the same time began construction began on the Moody Lane Sewer Treatment facility to accommodate the rapid development and anticipated future growth; construction was completed in 2009. This facility uses MBR technology and treated water meets EPA and NDEP ‘s highest discharge standards.
The Moody Lane Treatment Plant has capacity of 300,000GPD with possible expansion to 1,200,000GPD. This capacity should be sufficient to meet demands within the Churchill County service area for 20-30 years.
