4x4 / Hiking Trips
Churchill County Parks and Recreation is happy to bring you our Hiking / 4x4 trips.  These trips offer people a chance to see the natural beauty that surrounds us and explore areas rarely seen.  Trips are lead by our expert tour guide Debbie Moorhead.  Each trip is held on a Saturday morning with a pre-trip information meeting held the Thursday prior to the trip.

The cost of the trip is $15 for an indivdual and $25 for a couple.  Dogs are not permitted on the trip and you are required to have a 4x4 vehicle and bring your own lunch and water.

The upcoming trips for 2013 are:

Round Mountain Gold Corporation

Meeting Date: April 18, 7 pm

Trip Date: April 20

We will be going to the gold mine south of Austin called the Round Mountain Gold Corporation.  This will be a working gold mine.

The drive will be about 3 hours long so be ready.  If you plan on going on the trip it is a must that you be at Thursday Meeting, there are no Saturday signups, as we must let them know how many people will be there in advance.  You’ll be allowed to take photos, but must have steel-toed shoes to get out of vehicles.

Children are able to come, but you must be aware that they may not be able to go to some of the places.  This trip will be limited to 25 people only.  No pets.  We will have lunch sometime after the trip in the mine, so be sure to eat a good breakfast.  Four wheel drive is only needed if there is time to explore after the trip to the mine.
