Running with the Cows 5K
 2012 Cow 1

Churchill County Parks and Recreation is proud to bring you the Ruuning with the Cows 5K run/walk.

NOT SCHEDULED TILL 2015!

This is a running event for the "rest of us" runners. Anyone can enter and everyone has a chance to win.  It is held annually in June.  The more a participant weighs, the earlier you start the race. There are seven weight divisions in the race. Each division will get a 2 minute head start over the next group, with the last group starting from scratch.

Entry Fee: $20 for all participants (Includes a TECH SHIRT for all runners registered by cut off date). All runners who complete the race will recieve a custom designed FINISHER MEDAL as well. All particiapnts must state what their current weight is when they are fully dressed to run so as to be placed in the proper starting corral.

Water/Post Race Food: Water will be provided to each entrant as needed. There will not be a water stop on the course.  At the finish line, water will be available as well as chocolate milk, provided by Model Dairy, as well as donuts, bananas and other fun treats and snacks to enjoy.

How it works:Each group will start 2 minutes after the previous group. The timer will officially start when the last group starts.

For example: Runner A starts in group 1 and the time at the completion of the run is 20 minutes. Runner B starts in group 7 and finishes in 21 minutes. Runner A is the winner, even though runner A has an actual run time of 32 minutes due to the 12 minute head start over runner B. Official and actual run time results will both be posted.
