County Library belongs to a consortium of eighteen libraries.
Churchill County Library has been a member since 1983. Three new
libraries petitioned to become members of CLAN during 1998: Lincoln,
Nye,
and Esmeralda County Libraries.
CLAN is now all of Nevada except for Clark County,
Washoe County, and the University of Nevada Library System. CLAN members
include: Carson City Library, Douglas County Library, Elko County
Library, Humboldt County Library, Lyon County Library, Mineral County
Library, Pershing County Library, Storey County Library, White Pine
County Library, Nevada State Library and Archives, Nevada Supreme Court
Library, State Fire Marshall, U.S. Geological Survey, and Sierra Nevada
Community College.
Because of our membership in CLAN, Churchill County
can access the databases in Clark and Washoe County, UNR, and UNLV. The
Library can also provide free access to the Government Printing Office
in Washington, DC. Library patrons are able to download files from the
Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Register, the United States Code,
and other government publications. Our patrons can also utilize the
Thomas Register and SIRS reference database on-line.
