ast year
(1999) was a very interesting year for the Library. We circulated
132,434 items and registered over 1,300 people for Internet use. During
2000, we will be adding a software program to the Internet computers
that will keep track of the number of sites that are looked at during a
session.
We have added
many new titles, plus an addition of a new service:
unabridged books recorded on CD’s. Many of our patrons have
portable
CD players or in their vehicles, and have enjoyed the ability to listen
to
books with this new technology. We are exploring the addition of DVD
movies to the collection.

Building
Considerations
The Library Board of Trustees is considering
and planning for the building of a new library. Our current building is
over 30 years old and houses close to 72,000 volumes. The building was
originally planned for a 20-year growth and to hold approximately 20,000
volumes. The Library Board of Trustees anticipates this project will
take two to three years to go from idea to reality.
Internet Access
The Internet is available at the Library for public use
courtesy of CC
Communications. Users must have a valid Nevada library card and sign
the Library’s Computer Responsibility Statement. Use is free of
charge, and patrons can use the computer for two-hour increments.
