NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Churchill County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on 10 October 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Churchill County Administration Complex, County Commission Chambers, 155 North Taylor Street, Fallon, Nevada.  The following items will be heard.

BROOKS – An application for a temporary use permit for property located at 1625 Melanie Drive, Assessor’s Parcel Number 008-191-47 consisting of 1 acre of non-water righted property located in the E-1 land use district.  The applicant is requesting a temporary use permit under Chapter 16.08.300.A(3a) of the Churchill County Code to set up a 33-foot travel trailer on the property for her aging mother to reside in. 7:10 p.m. STEVE & MICHAELE ATKINSON – An application for a special use permit for property located at 1717 Bell-Aire Lane, Assessor’s Parcel Number 010-412-07 consisting of 5 acres of non-water righted property located in the A-5 land use district.  The applicant is requesting a special use permit under Chapter 16.08.140.D of the Churchill County Code to legalize their existing home-based AKC Golden Retriever dog breeding business.  They have four breeding females, one spayed female and two males and average about 16 puppies per year. 7:25 p.m. ENEL STILLWATER, LLC – An application for a special use permit for property located off Lawrence Lane, Assessor’s Parcel Number 009-032-30, consisting of 234.96 acres of non-water righted property located in the A-10 land use district.  The applicant is requesting a special use permit under Chapter 16.08.150.D of the Churchill County Code to expand the existing geothermal operation.  They would like to construct and operate the Stillwater II Geothermal Project, a 29 MW (net) binary geothermal electrical generation facility and geothermal well field expansion project, adjacent to the existing Stillwater I Geothermal Power Plant.  The existing 60 kV transmission line and substation will be utilized by the new facility. 7:40 p.m. ENEL SALT WELLS, LLC – An application for a special use permit for property located on the Federal Lease Hold in the Salt Wells Basin, about five miles south of the Austin Highway, a portion of Assessor’s Parcel Number 009-032-30, consisting of 3,794 acres of non-water righted property located in the RR-20 land use district.  The applicant is requesting a special use permit under Chapter 16.08.220.D of the Churchill County Code to construct and operate the Salt Wells Geothermal Project, a 15 MW (net) binary geothermal electrical generation facility and geothermal well field expansion project.  They will utilize the existing 230 kV transmission line that connects Ft. 7:55 p.m. GREG STARK – An application for a variance from the 200’ minimum lot width for property located at 4050 Schindler Road, Assessor’s Parcel Number 006-292-57 consisting of 24.54 acres with 14 acres of water-righted property located in the A-5 land use district.  The applicant is requesting a variance from Chapter 16.16.020.1 of the Churchill County Code to split the property into three parcels, one being a very irregular shaped parcel less than 200-feet wide due to the existing TCID infrastructure on both sides of the parcel. Although the foregoing agenda is a public meeting posted by another agency or organization, under the provisions of the Nevada Open Meeting Law a number of members of the Churchill County Board of Commissioners constituting a quorum may be in attendance to receive information.  While a quorum of Churchill County Commission members will not participate in voting on any matters before the body governed by the foregoing agenda, there being a possibility the attorney general could define such attendance and gathering of information as a deliberation towards a decision at this meeting or at a duly posted meeting of the board of commissioners in future, the public is hereby notified that this agenda is posted as a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners under the provisions of NRS 241.
