he Churchill County Recorder's Office is located at 155 North Taylor Street, Suite 131. The Recorder is elected to a four-year term and the office has a total staff of two to perform all functions. The primary function of the Recorder's Office is to record documents and maps, maintaining cross-reference indexes to these records. The office provides for public viewing, copies and certifications of records, and provides CD duplicates of records.

To date there are 350 types of documents recorded in this office. It is important that all requirements set by Nevada Revised Statutes are met prior to performing of the functions mentioned above.

We are very proud of the turn-around time for processing of documents in our office. We provide next business day return of all recorded documents. It is our goal to answer all correspondence the same day it is received.

Churchill County Recorder Official Records are now available online 2000 forward!

The Recorder's office is pleased to announce the release of documents online for public access in your own home or business. Besides the 2000 thru current documents, the public will also be able to pull up any recorded map and corner records from as early as 1904 to current. The Recorders office will continue to provide copies of these documents at the public's request; but felt it would benefit the community by allowing easier access without having to make a trip to their office. The documents displayed online will have an annotation 'Unofficial Copy' displayed prominently on the front of each page.

Certain types of documents will be suppressed from display online if it is felt they provide too much personal information such as the last 4 digits of a Social Security number or driver's license number. Because of the chance of personal information being displayed on the documents; the following document types will not display.

Any type of Court documents because in some instances an Affidavit with personal information has been attached.   Federal Tax Liens & Releases, Divorce, Power of Attorney, Disclaimer, or UCC recordings.
  
Notice - Early Deeds (4/30/1864-1968) are currently being placed into the database and the information will not be considered accurate until it has been verified by another staff member. (Up to Sep. 25, 1956 as of Jan. 20, 2010)

FORECLOSURE LISTS ARE NOT PROVIDED BY THIS COUNTY.

You are welcome to search the database for Notice of Trustee Sales, Notice of Defaults, and Rescission of Notice of Defaults to determine what is being foreclosed on.

How to access this information: Select the first "Browse Our Files" button below for access to the Grantor/Grantee index. Maps and corner records dated before 2005 will display by clicking over the OPEN on the left of the entry; then pressing the button labeled 'display document' at the bottom of that screen. You will need to allow 'pop ups' and have java software downloaded in order for you to see the document. We have provided downloadable Sun Java on the page that has the browse buttons. Documents from 2005 forward will display by following the above instructions also.  Anything pertaining to "veterans" in the name has been indexed as Veterans Administration.

Documents will not display IF they have personal information as defined in NRS 603A.040.
