Equipment Replacement Policy and Plan
Developed in house and approved by the Board of County Commissioners. This plan has collected adequate revenues to begin the first phase of equipment replacement.
Equipment Purchased in 2006/2007:
Four used Ten-Wheeler Dump Trucks with Sander Box and Snow Plow attachments. These trucks were obtained through an equipment auction held in Colorado. These ten-wheelers were almost 20 years newer than the 4 trucks they replaced. One new Loader, two new motor graders, and one used shaker screen for the gravel pit. All equipment replaced, was declared surplus and sold at public auctions. Revenue generated from these auctions will be used to support the Equipment Replacement Plan.
5 Year Road Improvement Plan
Click here to download The 5 Year Road Improvement Plan
This road plan identifies only major improvement projects having an estimated cost in excess of $100,000. General road maintenance, urgent repairs, minor culvert/bridge improvements, and minor road improvement projects are not identified in this plan. Please note: The 5 Year Road Improvement Plan was developed to identify and prioritize only those roads currently maintained by the Churchill County Road Department. To date, a funding mechanism to support or assist in the construction, maintenance, or repair of non-county maintained roads has not been established.
Each and every project identified on the current year of the road plan has been completed earlier than scheduled, and below budget. Savings from these projects contributed to the Equipment Replacement Plan. The 5 Year Road Improvement Plan has been recently updated, and will begin July 2007.
Speed Limit Ordinance
This ordinance was created to establish speed limits on all roads currently maintained by Churchill County. The Speed Limit Ordinance Project has been completed, including the purchase and installation of all speed limit signs. This project was completed 2 years ahead of schedule, and at half the anticipated cost.
