The Operations Bureau is commanded by a Captain and is primarily responsible for the Office’s line functions. The Operations Bureau is comprised of the Patrol Division, Gang Unit and the Investigations Division.

The Support Bureau is commanded by a Captain and is primarily responsible for those functions of the Office that are in direct support of the Operations Bureau. The Support Bureau is comprised of the Detention Division, the Civil Division and the Communications Division.

Sheriff's Message

As Churchill County Sheriff, it is my pleasure to present this 2009 annual report; a brief glimpse into your Sheriff’s Office providing statistical information along with highlights of specific aspects of this organization.  This past year has been filled with both challenges and accomplishments.

Our community has not been immune to the economic downturn and the related impacts which result.  The costs associated with providing services, particularly public safety, continue to rise while funding resources continue to be strained.  One of our biggest challenges here has been, and will continue to be, providing the highest level of service to the community while doing so with less available funding.  We will continue meet this challenge.

The Sheriff’s Office provides this service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  I am very proud of the women and men of this Office who work the days, nights, weekends and holidays to make sure the service continues.

I wish to thank the Board of County Commissioners as well as the community for the continued support in helping us serve you.
