R

ichard Ingram has been serving as your Sheriff since January 16, 2002. Sheriff Ingram began his law enforcement career with the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office in 1983 when he was first appointed as a Deputy Sheriff. Since that time he has committed himself to the education, training and actual experience necessary to fulfill the duties of the Office of the Sheriff.

Sheriff Ingram has served at all levels within the Sheriff’s Office including Sheriff, Undersheriff, Captain, Investigations Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Corporal/Investigator and Patrol Deputy.

As a result of this path, Sheriff Ingram has gained knowledge and experience in the enormous variety of law enforcement and public safety demands placed upon your Sheriff’s Office. These demands originate from numerous sources such as legislation and laws, court decisions and judges, and particularly from our customers, the residents of Churchill County.

Sheriff Ingram ensures that the department is involved in the community in areas other than law enforcement. The department networks with numerous entities such as Domestic Violence Intervention, Churchill Community Coalition, Churchill County School District, elderly and homebound monitoring program (Bigmouth) and the Local Emergency Planning Committee, to name just a few. The department provides Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) at both the elementary and junior high school level. This interaction provides for additional accessibility to the Sheriff’s Office in non-traditional law enforcement settings. The Sheriff’s Office also provides additional services such as child fingerprint services for parents, school classroom visitations, and guest speakers for service and other organizations. Sheriff Ingram is also a strong proponent of utilizing inmate labor

Sheriff Ingram’s goal for the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office is simple: To provide the highest quality service possible with emphasis on integrity and professionalism.

Sheriff Ingram is married to Brenda and has three children; Tyler, Colby and Taylor. He enjoys the outdoors whether it involves working in the yard, camping or fishing.
