
Weekly Backpack for Youth Food Program
The Backpack for Youth Program is a weekly food program designed to supplement Churchill County School District’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program. To assist in the fight against hunger, up to 50 packages containing nutritious food items, such as breakfast, lunch, and snacks, will be provided to the youth of Churchill County.
Eligibility:
- 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline
- Churchill County Residents
- Weekly participation
- Ages 2 through 18
Applications can be obtained and submitted daily at the following locations, during business hours:

- Churchill County Juvenile Probation
- Churchill County Parks & Recreation
- FRIENDS Family Resource Center
- Boy & Girls Club of Fallon

Monthly Project Food Program
The Project Food Program is a monthly program that assists individuals and families within Churchill County by supplementing their monthly food supply. Participants are requested to contribute a minimum of two hours per month in community service. For details, contact Churchill County Social Services.

- No Income Guideline
- Churchill County Residents
- Monthly Sign-Up
A meat package and $5.00 gift card can be obtained for a donation of $15.00. A Meat Scholarship Program is available for up to 10 participants per month. For details, contact Churchill County Social Services.
Sign-Ups: First Thursday of each month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Distribution: Last Thursday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Holiday Food Basket Program
During the holiday season, approximately 400 Holiday Food Baskets are distributed annually to the families and individuals of Churchill County whom are in need of additional food items.
Through volunteer efforts and support from Soroptimist International of Fallon and other community partners, the program has been successful and available at a no-cost basis to participants. For details and an annual schedule, contact Churchill County Social Services.
