Community Health Nursing Services Office provides generalized
public health nursing activities in counties other than Clark and
Washoe. Services include community-focused health assessment,
individual and group education for health promotion and risk
reduction, and delivery of individualized preventative health
clinical services in clinics, schools, homes and other community
settings.
The Churchill County Community Health Nursing Services Office
is located at 85 North Taylor Street in Fallon (across the street
from the County Offices Complex).

To identify and provide services for children who may be physically
handicapped or developmentally delayed.

Planning
Purpose
To enable people to space the birth of their children in order to
protect the health of the mother and the child.

Pregnancy testing and counseling.

Physical exam includes pap smear, pelvic exam, breast
exam and limited lab tests.

Contraceptive services for women and men include forms
of birth control, except for surgical procedures.

Supervision of methods of birth control.

Natural family planning, counseling and referral.

Sterilization counseling.

Available to anyone residing in Nevada.

Sliding scale for examinations and minimal fees for supplies are
requested at time of service.

Purpose
Health screening for Medicaid recipients under 21 years old.

Available from birth through age 20. Must be eligible for Medicaid
through Nevada State Welfare.

No charge except for non-Medicare clients.

Immunization
Clinic
Purpose
To protect children and adults from preventable, communicable diseases.
Services

Routine
immunizations for infants and children starting at 2 months of age -
Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella,
Hepatitis B and Haemophilus Influenza type b.

Adult
vaccinations for Tetanus and Diphtheria.

Gamma
Globulin for Hepatitis A contacts by doctor's orders.

Yearly flu
vaccine for the elderly or those with chronic health problems.

Pneumonia
vaccine for the elderly and those with chronic health problems.
Fee
A minimal fee for immunizations is requested but not mandatory.

Health Nursing Adult Education
Purpose
To provide skilled nursing services for the promotion of health in
individuals, families and the community.

Purpose
To reduce the number of sexually transmitted diseases by early detection
and treatment.

and the importance of early treatment.

Available to anyone.

Minimal fees for exams, tests and for each prescription are requested.

Tuberculosis
Clinic
Purpose
To eliminate tuberculosis through diagnosis and treatment of infected
persons.
Services

Skin tests
for the general public.

Treatment
for persons infected with tuberculosis who have not yet developed the
disease.

Screening
for suspected cases: providing skin tests and X-rays, if necessary, to
detect TB among family members and other contacts.

Treatment
for patients with active TB.

Child Clinic
Purpose
To monitor growth and development, to note any signs of illness that
might require a referral, and to encourage parents to enjoy and anticipate
their child's development

abnormal observations are found.

Available to 2-month old infants through 5-year old children.

periodic well-child exams are requested.
