Court Services

Mission

Our mission is to provide accurate, verified information to the courts and attorneys for making informed decisions regarding the accused; assess, supervise, and provide services for defendants; and promote community safety and a defendant's return to court while honoring the constitutional presumption of innocence.

Duties

The main function of the Court Services pre-trial division is to interview all defendants who are arrested and incarcerated to collect background information, then verify that information and provide reports to the court, prosecutor, and public defender. Then, in cases where appropriate, the department includes recommendations for release along with the recommended conditions to be set by the court.

All persons released to the program are monitored on a consistent basis. Referrals are made to appropriate community agencies based on need or conditions of release, and drug and alcohol tests are administered as ordered. In addition, Court Services tracks defendants' court dates and reminds and accompanies defendants to their court hearings after notifying the courts and attorneys of the defendant's success or failure to comply. The Court Services Department also administers a Community Service program which the courts and Parole and Probation can use if they choose.

Testing

Check-ins and administration of drug and alcohol tests takes place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and at random times on the weekends in our office located at:
