Volunteer Fire Department Information
The Fallon/Churchill Volunteer Fire Department responds to more than 400 fire and extrication calls a year with an average response time of less than 6 minutes for all calls. The department protects a population in the City of Fallon of around 8,200 people, and in greater Churchill County of more than 25,000 folks, spread out over 250 of the county's 5,000 square miles of desert.
We are the nation's first volunteer fire department to receive an ISO Class 1 rating and we have maintained that rating since 1995. The ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating defines the public protection class assigned to a community. Ratings are assigned from 1 to 10, with one being the best. Your fire department is one of four departments out of 103 in Nevada to be rated ISO Class 1.
