The Fallon Chamber of Commerce, the Fallon Maine Street Program and Churchill Economic Development Authority/Small Business Development Center are proud to host Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30 and add a little Fallon twist to the 10th annual event.
Small Business Saturday celebrates the impact small businesses have on communities across the country, including Fallon and Churchill County.
“We will be hosting a welcome booth this year at Telegraph Coffee & Tap starting at 7 a.m. and will be there until bags run out,” said Lucy Carnahan, executive director of the Fallon Chamber of Commerce. “Shoppers are encouraged to drop by Telegraph prior to shopping and pick up a shopping bag and game pieces to play the games set up around town.” A scavenger hunt and raffle prizes will be part of the fun.
The aim of Small Business Saturday is to encourage folks to shop locally and spotlight small businesses and the impact they have on communities. An average of two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at a small business stays in that local community. That means shopping small could help bring things like better schools or new jobs to our area.
A partial list of local businesses participating includes: Pizza Barn, Louie’s Home Center, Telegraph Coffee & Tap, Twisted Branch, Slanted Porch, Tandoori Flames, Openshaw Saddlery, Fallon Theatre, Jo’s Stillwater Tearoom, Buttsup Duck, Life’s Little Treats, Amick Events, His Inspirations, Blush, Kent’s Supply and Country Health among others.
The Old Post Office will be open and filled with home-based businesses looking to help Santa fill those stockings!
