At approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an injured male on Sprig Lane.
Members of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and medics from Banner Churchill Community Hospital responded to the scene and upon arrival, found that the male had succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the type and nature of the injuries, his death has been ruled a homicide and is an open and active investigation.

Just before noon today, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office received another 911 call stating a male juvenile had been struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Tumbleweed and Rice Road. This juvenile succumbed to the injuries he received as a result and was pronounced deceased by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office.
The Nevada Highway Patrol and their Major Accident Investigations Team responded to conduct the traffic investigation and the Sheriff’s Office conducted the coroner investigation.
