Churchill County Library Director Carol Lloyd has been tapped to serve as the acting museum director while a national search is conducted to find a permanent director following the death of Dan Ingram earlier this month.
County Manager Jim Barbee and Human Resources Director Geof Stark approached Lloyd with the proposal last week and she agreed to serve until a new director is hired.
Since museum programming has been sidelined by the pandemic, Lloyd will focus on administrative tasks including interacting with staff and the museum board, meeting deadlines, applying for grants that may come up, organizing files, paying the bills and the like.
“My goal is to keep the museum moving forward until a new, permanent director arrives, but yet not making any huge changes,” Lloyd said.
Lloyd has high praise for the museum staff who have jumped in to support her in this new role. “They have really been wonderful,” she said.
When ready, the job posting for the Churchill County Museum Director position will be on the county’s website at: www.churchillcountynv.gov/careers
