[ARCHIVED] County Departments Host Fall Events

The Churchill County Museum, Library and Parks & Recreation have several events planned this month for family fall fun.

Parks & Recreation

Scarecrow Factory on Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until supplies run out). At Lattin Farms. Build your own scarecrow for just $5.

Co-Ed Volleyball League from Oct. 26-Dec. 16 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 10 p.m. at the City-County Gym on Venturacci Lane. $230 per team. 6-on-6 with a total of 10 players per team. Eight team league limit; first come, first served. Sign up by registration deadline: Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Additional details and forms: https://www.churchillcountynv.gov/491/Coed-Volleyball-League 

Annual Haunted House on Oct. 28 and 30 from 6 to 10 p.m. each night. Dry Gulch Building at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. 6-7:30 p.m. is reserved for the faint-of-heart and the younger kids and won’t be so scary as the later hours. Entry fee: $4 per person.

Storytime: Pumpkins on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to noon. Story and related activities.

Storytime: Scarecrows on Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to noon. Story and related activities.

Storytime: Monsters on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon. Story and related activities.

Storytime: Halloween on Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to noon. Story and related activities.

Churchill County Museum

Nite at the Museum on Oct. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. Watch the museum come to life and meet fascinating characters as they once lived from our community’s past. Fill up on history and candy. Costumes encouraged. Free.
