[ARCHIVED] New App Available For Law Enforcement Families, Community Members

Sheriff Richard Hickox

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office has been working with a company called Cordico to develop an app specific to our agency and the community we serve. This app will allow us to provide department links, relay safety and crime prevention tips, meaningful quotes, and a gallery of photos of our agency.

The job of a law enforcement officer or dispatcher is a stressful one and I can’t imagine that being the spouse of one can be stress-free or easy either as they worry about their loved one and if they are safe. This app will provide resources for our department members and their spouses, which include links to chaplains, mental health, stress reduction, resiliency, healthy eating habits, exercise and sleep patterns.

Our app can be found in the App Store under the name Churchill County Sheriff's Office and is available for both iPhones and Android-based phone operating systems.

We were blessed to have the talented photographer Barb Swetzof Lund grant us permission to use some of her pictures for this app, a huge shout out of thanks to her for this.

Our office will still be utilizing Facebook to relay information, updates, thoughts and relevant information regarding community events and law enforcement actions within our community. This new app will just be one more way for the community to be able to connect with your Sheriff’s Office.

Please check out the app and download it review the crime prevention tips and resources.
